• If society was gender conscious there would be need for quotas for women.
• Quotas help women to enter politics in the same way as men.
• There are different kinds of quotas;
q Constitutional quotas are placed under country constitution.
q Legislation quotas are under election law, political party law or other comparable law of the country
Above mention quotas are enforced by sanction.
q Voluntary party quotas are set by party themselves to guarantee the nomination of certain number & proportion of women.
It is not enforced by sanction.

• Nomination process:
It place woman in the party list.
They are given the equal opportunities like male to be elected in legislative body.
